Transparency and Accountability: The Cornerstones of SQUARE UP

Updated: Sep 23, 2023

Dear City Square Community,

In recent times, our community has experienced events that have left some of us concerned and looking for answers. At the heart of these concerns lies the fundamental importance of transparency and accountability within our community. In this blog post, we want to shed light on what has been happening, why these principles are crucial, and how SQUARE UP, our community initiative, is committed to upholding them.

Why Transparency and Accountability Matter:

Transparency and accountability are not just buzzwords; they are the bedrock of a thriving, united community. They ensure that residents have a voice, that leaders act in everyone's best interests, and that our community remains a place where everyone can thrive.

Recent events in City Square have raised questions about the conduct of our former HOA President, Jane Roberts, during her five-month tenure. Allegations of abuse of authority, harassment, and mismanagement have left residents seeking answers. It's clear that for our community to move forward, we need transparency to uncover the truth and accountability to ensure those responsible are held to justice.

How SQUARE UP Plans to Uphold These Principles:

SQUARE UP is not just a slogan; it's a promise to our community. We understand that our community is strongest when its members actively participate and hold leadership accountable. Here's how we plan to do that:

  1. Engagement and Community Dialogue: SQUARE UP aims to foster open communication among residents. We believe that sharing concerns and ideas openly can lead to positive change.

  2. Advocacy and Investigation: We are committed to conducting a thorough and impartial investigation into the activities of Jane Roberts during her time as HOA President. We will also keep a close eye on the conduct of our HOA Board.

  3. Code Violations and Fines: We will scrutinize the increase in code violations, fines, and fees under the new property management company and HOA Board. Our aim is to ensure that these measures are reasonable and fairly enforced.

  4. Community Growth Initiatives: SQUARE UP is dedicated to pushing for initiatives that benefit all residents, such as community programs, events, and growth opportunities. We believe that our community can be a place of inclusion and support for everyone.

Taking a Stand for Our Community:

The events that have unfolded in our community cannot be ignored. Discrimination, harassment, and the stifling of voices have no place in City Square. SQUARE UP is our opportunity to unite, demand transparency, and hold leaders accountable for their actions.

We invite every resident to join us in this journey. Together, we can build a stronger, more transparent, and accountable City Square where everyone can thrive. Watch this space for updates, events, and ways to get involved.

Let's make our community a place we are all proud to call home.

Sincerely,

Nathan Michael Dreggors and the SQUARE UP Team
